My name is Lexia and I’m the founder of Bali Cravings, a Bali concept café and restaurant. When I was 16, I left school with the desire to create my own path, school was not for me. I believed that education is not necessarily a synonym of school benches and teacher’s pressure. My teachers and my family freaked out, not understanding a single part of my plan, my vision. I wanted to kick-start my passion for cooking and be my own boss, even if it was by doing (a lot of) small cakes all by myself at the beginning I felt safe in this food creation world, much more that at school.
It was a constant challenge. I had to cumulate a work in a French pastry shop where they would pay me only Rs 1200 monthly and side work. I learned by myself, from books and YouTube, strenuous work and privation, was starting to pay. I wanted to prove that I could make my way through life with success without thousands of certificates and degrees. At the age of 19 to 23 years old, I was travelling alone in several countries.I was thirsty for knowledge and saved every rupee I could to learn overseas from great pastry specialists.
What started as cake making, grew in wedding organization and so much more. The more I took learning travels the more it broadens my horizons. I felt pampered by the universe, with so much customers.
Nevertheless, the pandemic brought my wedding and prep meal business to their knees but firing a single staff was not conceivable for me. I started to write eBooks, to coach clients, teaching, promoting our cakes, blogging etc, everything that could keep me afloat but it wasn’t enough.
Anxiety and insomnia was a daily thing, but I kept going. I cannot close a business that means so much to me. I started to meditate and took time to figure out who I really am to find the right solutions. “My dream is to travelled the world” it told myself. Also, few years ago, I travelled to Bali and I fell in love. The gypsy, cosy cafe, simple living inspired me so much. It changed my life, I discovered veganism for the first time. I was amazed how food can be so damn good without any animal product.
I decided I wanted to share all my food experience with the world by cooking delicious & simple meal nothing fancy but simple food. At my café, you will not find a 5 stars chef but a passionate team inspired by all my travels especially in Bali. All our ingredients will be of high quality and not a single commercial food will be sold. Crisis or not, our prices will be value for money only. Prepare your phones, the décor and the food will be seriously instagrammable. There will also be an in-house photographer for you!
I want you to experience my crazy world of beauty and fashion also, that’s why a “Self-Care Cocoon” will be available. Come eat well and get pampered through Eyelashes extension, Microbladding, Nails art, Waxing, Massage, Facial among others. Our venue is a very small & cosy renovated place that I decorated with love and reused old furniture. I tried to adapt my actual tight budget to my style and it gave the cute Bali Cravings concept. To be a young entrepreneur is not easy but I do my best to stay unique and genuine. I hope to see you soon enjoying our travel food. Follow us on Instagram & Facebook.
