Rest mode on
Do you sometimes get home, look at your living room and do not feel relaxed at all? My very first tip would be to always keep this area as neat and tidy as possible. Marie Kondo is right on that point; tidiness brings a special kind of peace of mind. Coming home and having to deal with dust, clothes all over the sofa or mugs from last night is not a feel-good sensation. Be on point when it comes to keep the place zen. Your living room is where you come to relax, have a quality time with your closest ones or a fluffy ball or fur like my cat Lola!
Remember also, to take away any objects or unnecessary stuffs that do not make you happy. Like trinkets or old Knick knacks. Yes, some may have an emotional value, but if it is lowering your energy, just put those things in a box and keep them safe in a cupboard away from the eyes but close to your heart. Choose a nice theme for the area. I like it when my living room is cosy and fluffy.
I love looking at it and say to myself, that’s a warm and cocooning place where I want to cuddle something and rest. This fluffy black, grey and white cushion gives me the sensation that I have my cat next to me when it is gone doing its grumpy cat’s things. I got it from La Foir’Fouille. If you do not have the soothing effects of a real cat at home, I recommend getting one of those! I melt every time I have this next to me. So yeah, I you are a cushion lover just like me, get some nice ones. Big, small, fluffy or just soft ones. I personally like when the shades are neutral but you can put colours all over the place.
Also lovelies, it is winter, you really need a blanket or two around your living room to get cosy so you do not have to carry your big duvet from your bed to feel warm. I generally love to just put one over me and drink an infusion with a good book or a good TV show. This giant crochet stitch soft pink blanket had my heart at first sight. I said to myself, that’s what I want in my living room on these cold nights at home. It is also a great way to decorate your sofa and make it more cushiony.
Choose a nice atmosphere with soft lights and forget about that blinding neon tube. You can never have enough lamps or candles in a living room. Put your stress-free mode on with dim lights. I would recommend nice scented candles that will give warmth and a good perfume to the room. I love sugary scented ones, like vanilla or cinnamon and did not know which one to pick when I went to La Foir’ Fouille. I finally took this big one near the little black table. I loved its vintage look.
If you read my previous blogs, you will know that I love a black touch with some greeneries around. That’s why I felt for this black low table and footstool. I have added some dark gold for a chic style also. If you want to recreate this look or create a whole new living room, you can get all your stuffs at La Foir’Fouille. If you need any sort of help or advice, you can have my coaching sessions for interior décor also. This will avoid buying unnecessary stuffs that will not fit with what you really want. Cheers pretty souls!
